Now in its 29th year, the annual AJ Small Projects Award, run in association with Marley, celebrates completed projects with a contract value of £350,000 and under.

Since it was first launched in 1996, the intention of the award has remained the same: to give much-deserved recognition to schemes released at a more modest cost. From home extensions to workspaces, restaurants to shop fit-outs, pavilions to small houses, architects all over the country are busy working on projects that may not make headlines but nevertheless provide a real indication of the depth of design talent across the UK today.

All the projects entered for the award will be featured in the AJ Buildings Library with the 20 shortlisted projects published in the AJ in April 2024.
